The client was very keen to retain the look of the original tiles, which were naturally in keeping with the period of the property. A new lease of life
The team at Collier Roofing quickly got to work to remove the old and perished materials right back to the rafters. We then installed a new breathable membrane to provide an extra barrier against the elements, and hard-wearing battens, which are specially treated to resist damp. The roof now had a strong underpinning for the brand-new tiles. To complement the age of the property, we used market-leading Redland 49 concrete tiles, which were in keeping with the rest of the houses on the street, and have a unique camber, making them particularly strong.
Completing the job
To finish the job, the team put in top-quality, long-lasting lead valleys to ensure a smooth run-off for rainwater. The lead valleys are also an attractive addition to a traditional pitched roof on a period property.
